In the Meiji era,( 1900), Okane-san, the Japanese beauty was born and brought up in Taketa fell in love with the Frence Navy soldier in Nagasaki prefecture. The Frence soldier, Pierre Roch ( ), who wrote a novel "Chrysanthemum". Okiku-san is the heroin in the story. The story also extends to the one of the famous opera arisa, "the Madame Butterfly".
